Electrical/Mechanical Lead Engineer

As the Electrical/Mechanical Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the team in product design from initial concept through release. This is a multifunctional role dealing with diverse engineering needs, including the ability to be a technical lead, gather requirements, generate circuit assembly design packages, interface with manufacturing partners, and provide guidance of priorities based on the roadmap and company priorities. You will also serve as a technical and professional mentor in their field.

This non-exempt position reports to the VP of Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Perform as the technical authority for hardware design and provide technical direction for engineering initiatives and product
  • Lead and influence engineering teams to drive hardware product development ensuring technical solutions meet product design
  • Supervise mechanical and hardware engineers and provide feedback to VP of Engineering on performance and
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other hardware team members to educate and promote career
  • Work proactively with cross functional teams to ensure that each hardware solution meets firmware and system level requirements and is successfully released to manufacturing and launched in the
  • Author documentation including circuit assembly design packages, engineering specifications, architecture/theory-of–operation reviews, engineering studies, design verification plans, test methods and protocols, and create reports to internal and external
  • Design, test, and assist with the oversight of manufacturing aspects of analog, digital and RF circuitry including communication buses, feedback/closed loop systems, display/user interfaces, digital/analog audio signals in low noise circuits using EMC/EMI design best
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt and adjust hardware designs to changing market needs, as well as embrace feedback from validation tests, regulatory tests and firmware/software limitations and

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering
  • 10 years of hardware design
  • Mechanical design experience utilizing hands-on machine shop equipment as well as 2D and 3D CAD and modeling tools
  • Solid history of hardware electrical circuit design using engineering best practice techniques for mixed signal solutions and processor-based systems
  • 5+ years of experience directly managing a team
  • Proven record of successful past hardware designs from inception to end of life
  • Experience incorporating EMC/EMI design best practices into sensitive circuits and integration with mechanical components
  • Experience weighing/balancing multi-faceted complex design challenges

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of commercial sound equipment
  • Digital signal processing skills with an emphasis on audio and wireless filtering/manipulation
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting complex serial and parallel communications buses such as SPI, UART, 12C, 12S, RS232/485, 4-bit/8-bit parallel, PCIe, as well as embedded support for network/wireless peripherals (e.g. Ethernet, Bluetooth, Wifi, )
  • Manufacturing and ERP experience

Physical Requirement

The Audio Video Repair Technician position is continuously reaching above shoulder level, and frequently carries and lifts up to 20-35 lbs.  This position requires simple and firm grasping and fine manipulating of the hands to operate a soldering iron, needle nose pliers, clippers, and other tooling and testing equipment. Testing requires good visual, listening, hearing, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to read electronic equipment.  Individual must be able to sit and/or stand at workbench/machines for extended periods of time; bend, stoop, reach, turn as required; use hands for extended periods of time to perform repairs. This individual is exposed to dust, fumes, and gases. These physical requirements must be performed with or without accommodation.
