SoundPlus® T3 Medium-Area Infrared System with PoE

IR SYS30

The SoundPlus® T3 PoE system features the upgraded T3 medium-area infrared transmitter and a power-over-Ethernet (PoE) kit for convenient power delivery. Using advanced LED technology, the two-channel T3 transmitter offers stronger, more efficient audio signals with broader coverage than previous models.

Ideal for adjacent rooms without signal spillover, the T3 covers up 32,000 sq ft (2,972 sq m). The system includes a transmitter, handheld receivers, charger, headphones, neckloop, mounting bracket, and ADA wall plaque.

The added PoE kit includes a wire cable assembly for direct power supply wiring and for connecting to a switch, ensuring easy installation.

System Includes

(1) IR T3 – Infrared Transmitter
(2) WIR RX22-4N – Handheld IR Receivers
(2) HED 027 – Folding, Mono Headphones
(1) NKL 001 – 18″ Mono Neckloop
(1) CHG 3502 2-Bay Body-Pack Charger
(2) BAT 026-2 NiMH rechargeable batteries
(1) POE KT1 – Remote power kit including wire cable assembly (WCA 131 and WCA 133)
(1) BKT 024 – Wall/Ceiling Mounting Bracket
(1) IDP 008 – ADA wall plaque
(1) TFP 057 – Power supply

How It Works

The IR T3 can be controlled remotely via RS-232 commands. The commands include:

  • Powering the unit on/off
  • Remotely setting the IR frequency (2.3/2.8 or 3.3/3.8)
  • Muting the outgoing audio without powering off
  • Turning back panel LEDs on or off
  • Troubleshooting abilities

A full list of commands is available on the downloads tab in the IR Programmer’s Guide.

IR T3 architectural and engineering specifications

Architectural/Consultant Specs The Infrared Transmitter shall consist of an all-in-one modulator and emitter operating on 2.3 MHz and/or 2.8 MHz (or 3.3 and/or 3.8 MHz). The carrier frequency shall use 50 kHz deviation and 50 µS pre-emphasis. The transmitter will operate in 2-channel mode on 2.3 and 2.8 or on 3.3 and 3.8 MHz. The transmitter will operate in single-channel mode on 2.3, 2.8, 3.3, or 3.8 MHz. The transmitter shall have coverage up to 32,000 ft2 (2,972 m2) with the WIR RX22-4 infrared receiver in single-channel mode or 19,000 ft2. (1,765 m2) with the RX20 infrared receiver in single-channel mode. The transmitter shall be housed in a heavy-duty black plastic enclosure with a metal plate base and a durable infrared transparent front lens. It shall be convection-cooled without fans and have a sleep/power save mode that shuts off the IR when no audio is present for 12 minutes. The Transmitter shall have a signal-to-noise ratio of 70 dB or better and have an audio frequency response of 95 Hz to 17.6Hz, -3 dB re 1 kHz (line inputs), and 125 Hz to 17.0 kHz, -3 dB re 1 kHz (microphone input). The Transmitter includes an omnidirectional mounting bracket for various permanent installations. Each channel shall have a line-level Phoenix-style connector input, and each channel shall have an audio input-level LED.There shall be a single 3.5 mm microphone input with gain control, and the mic input shall have a channel selector switch. The transmitter shall have a switch to turn off all indicator LEDs if pressed and held and change the carrier frequency set if pressed and held. The transmitter shall be powered by a 48 VDC universal power supply, 50-60 Hz, 100-240 VAC input, 18 W with optional Power over Ethernet (PoE) support. The transmitter shall have RS-232 monitoring and control available for third-party controllers. The transmitter shall be covered by a two-year parts and labor warranty and 90 days on accessories. The Williams AV SoundPlus T3® infrared transmitter is specified.
