New Infinium Enhanced Scale & Management (ESM) firmware introduces
multi-transmitter management, seamless audio “hopping” coverage, and open integration
for large-scale deployments.
Building on the momentum of back-to-back industry accolades, Williams AV today announced a major firmware-based evolution for its Infinium® Auracast™ broadcast audio system. The next-generation Infinium firmware represents a significant milestone in the platform’s product roadmap—expanding scalability and introducing advanced centralized management, with additional enhancements planned for future releases.
The Infinium ESM firmware expands the system’s ability to scale, supporting a virtually unlimited number of transmitters and up to 20 coexisting audio channels to deliver seamless audio across larger, more complex environments.
Recognized as Emerging Technology of the Year by Sound & Video Contractor and a 2025 BEST Award winner for Assistive Listening from Commercial Integrator, Infinium builds on its award-winning foundation with next-generation firmware that enables enterprise-scale Auracast™ broadcast audio deployments. Purpose-built for system integrators, Infinium features a modular architecture with separate transmitter and controller components for flexible rack integration, along with simplified transmitter installation using a single CAT5 cable for power, audio, and control.
Shipping with all new Infinium systems in April 2026—and available as a free firmware update for existing customers—the Infinium ESM firmware enhances this integrator-preferred design by delivering greater centralized control and system management. Integrators and AV managers can confidently scale and manage Infinium across large, complex environments, including educational campuses, entertainment venues, convention centers, houses of worship, and multi-room facilities.
“Infinium was designed for integrators from the start,” said Per Persson, VP, International Sales & Product Management, Williams AV. “The ESM firmware strengthens centralized management and scalability while preserving the workflows integrators already trust—and it’s an important step in our long-term roadmap.”
Enterprise-Scale & Control, Built for Real-World AV
The Infinium ESM firmware introduces capabilities that simplify the design, deployment, and management of audio in large-scale environments:
Centralized Management. An enhanced web-based interface enables onsite or remote management of a virtually unlimited number of transmitters.
Coordinated Transmitter Arrays. Infinium receivers can seamlessly “hop” between transmitters, providing audio coverage across large spaces and complex footprints.
Spaces-Based Organization. A hierarchical “Spaces” framework allows administrators to group transmitter arrays and individual transmitters into logical zones for easier monitoring.
Enterprise Control from the Rack. System managers can monitor and adjust key settings for up to 90 transmitters directly from the Infinium controller’s front panel.
Flexible Receiver Tuning. Receivers support open scanning for all available Auracast™ streams or Infinium Priority mode for simplified user experiences.
Open Integration. Programmer-friendly API enables seamless integration with third-party Pro AV control systems and smart-building environments.
Experience Next-Generation Infinium at ISE 2026
Williams AV will showcase the Infinium ESM firmware at ISE 2026 — Stand 3Q400. The exhibit will feature a live Control Center where attendees can explore the enhanced GUI, test multi-transmitter coordination, and experience the industry’s only dedicated handheld receiver with integrated balance control for a truly customized listening experience.
